MACD

The Moving Average Convergence Divergence or MACD indicator can show bullish/bearish momentum in a stock. The MACD is calculated by using the difference between two EMA (Exponential Moving Averages) – a 26 Days EMA (or slow EMA) and a 12 Days EMA (fast EMA), and then we add a “signal” line by calculating a 9 Day EMA of the MACD itself. This indicator shows the difference between the MACD line and signal line – when the MACD is below the signal line, it is considered a bearish signal and vice versa.
