Liquidity Ratios

When a company needs cash to pay short term debt obligations it may liquidate assets. Liquidity ratios measure the amount of liquid assets against the amount of short term debt. If the company has twice the assets compared to debt obligations, for example, that’s a good sign. If it has more debt than liquid assets, analysts see this as a bad sign. Analysts don’t measure liquidity in the same way. Each will combine different metrics making a comparison between analysts difficult. More info…
