Average Directional Index

The Average Directional Index is comprised of 3 lines -the ADX and the +DI and -DI. The ADX value is a measure of the strength of the trend, while the -DI and +DI point to the direction of the strength. We are using a standard 14 period for the ADX and display a positive value if the +DI is above the –DI. If the -DI is above the +DI, we are using the negative DX value.
